Responsibilities:

  • Provide automation electric controls and programming design.
  • Design detailed electrical drawings for assembly and debug.
  • Create bill of materials of purchased components, including part numbers and vendor resources.
  • Estimate cost and delivery of requested equipment.
  • Provide timely project updates.
  • Interface with project engineers/managers at customer’s facility.
  • Self-manage project files and project hours.
  • Oversee equipment assembly and debug phase.
  • Participate in scheduling of delivery and implementation at customer’s facility.
  • Place orders for all components and outside services, i.e., electrical and programming assistance as required.
  • Design/upgrade automated equipment/processes
  • Assist with the installation and debugging of new equipment and processes
  • Identify, recommend and implement “system” improvements in design, documentation, training, parts procurement, and standard components.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in electrical engineering; or equivalent mix or education and experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years proven experience in automated machine controls design.
  • Experience with CAD systems such as AutoCad.
  • Basic computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Extensive knowledge of PLC programming with Omron, AB, and HMI programming.
  • Strong skills in Servo motion control, Denso robotics, Cognex / Keyence vision systems, Devicenet / Ethernet networking.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical devices, such as indexers, pick & place mechanisms, sensors, stepper and servo motors.
  • Strong commitment to proper safety precautions in design and practice.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong project management and documentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, be flexible, and be self-directing.
