Responsibilities:
Provide direction and leadership to AlterForm, including people management, as follows: managing performance; addressing disciplinary issues; hiring; assisting people with career development; communicating information to direct reports and passing information up the management chain; ensuring team is aligned with and accomplishing goals/objectives; administrative processing; and maintaining trust and confidentiality
Facilitate and lead the Alterform business planning process
Work with sales, marketing, research and development and the third-party manufacturer to optimize operations and maximize profitability
Generate excitement and communicate the big picture to all involved (i.e., how the customer views Phillips Plastics/AlterForm, what the customer means to us in terms of sales and growth, the number of ongoing and future programs, etc.)
May participate in business development issues such as supply agreements, long-term agreements, cost reduction requests, cost sharing requests, pricing negotiations, account reviews, etc.
May participate in cost control and profitability decisions through interaction with appropriate manufacturing groups, accounting, and sales
Will participate in positioning AlterForm product(s), understanding the market and the positioning of AlterForm in that market
Review market competition
Ability to understand distribution channels
Work collaboratively with internal Marketing Department to provide input on promotional and advertising programs
Attend key industry trade shows and seminars
Provide Phillips Plastics management regular progress reports
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical discipline
Master’s degree in business, engineering or other technical discipline would be desirable
Minimum of 5-8 years’ experience in a technical, sales or marketing environment
Proven project management experience
Experience in developing strong business relationships essential
Understanding of the product development process and associated terminology
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, sales, and customers
Understanding of financial statements and accounting practices and terminology
Ability to identify problems and develop and implement actions to resolve them
Ability to motivate and influence people to achieve customer satisfaction
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
