Mold Repairer - Night Shift - 12 Hours

Multi-Shot - Eau Claire, Wisconsin

Responsibilities:

  • Repair and revise molds and secondary tooling
  • Troubleshoot complex mold problems and help keep production molds in efficient operating condition
  • Revise and update 2D and 3D mold designs to reflect mold revisions
  • Create documentation and drawings for revisions
  • Communicate with customers mold related issues, providing technical support and tooling alternatives
  • Assembly and disassembly of all components required in mold repair process
  • Create electrode designs
  • Create NC tool paths for electrodes
  • Provide constructive feedback and input to engineering regarding mold performance and preventative maintenance issues
  • Provide documentation for NC tool paths to the toolroom
  • Attend redline, AQP/PAR meetings, if required
  • Schedule repair/revision work in order to meet due dates. Coordinate with and provide direction for others.
  • Evaluate new mold performance in production
  • Set up and operate toolroom equipment, including manual and/or CNC
  • Subcontract to vendors providing the required information
  • May be responsible for heat treating all steels commonly used in mold manufacturing
  • May be responsible for welding including micro welding
  • Support/communicate with production team, other mold manufacturers/repairers, apprentices and engineers
  • Troubleshoot and assemble manifold system
  • Maintain molds so they stay in correct working order
  • Do minor maintenance on machines in toolroom

Qualifications:

  • Two-year degree in machine tooling or similar discipline; or equivalent mix of education and experience
  • Completion of apprenticeship program; or equivalent experience
  • Minimum eight (8) years experience at a journeyman level including exposure to a variety of mold manufacturing and plastic injection molding processes/technologies
  • Minimum of eight (8) years experience using CAD/CAM software in a mold repair and maintenance or mold manufacturing environment
  • Leadership
