Responsibilities:
Conduct audits of facility and production equipment, estimating energy consumption
Provide support to the plant Safety Health and Environmental Specialist by evaluating, estimating, and planning energy related projects or upgrades to equipment and the facility
Research and provide detail reports on viable energy management projects as directed
Update energy usage reports.
Assist and potentially lead energy efficiency improvement projects at participating facilities.
Perform compressed air study/surveys at each location and perform ultrasonic air leak checks
Assist in the development and maintenance of associated environmental records such as air emissions, chemical usages, non-contact cooling water testing, hazardous waste records and all other pertinent regulatory records, program, policies or procedures.
Assist current facility & corporate leadership with the overall environmental functions for the assigned facility and partners with on-site management and other resources to ensure local program ownership and accountability.
Support, assist and potentially lead the ISO 14001 - Environmental Management System (EMS) and formal corrective actions to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations as well as Phillips Plastics Corporation policies and procedures.
Assist current facility and corporate leadership with the implementation of corporate safety and environmental initiatives, or equivalent site-specific programs and required written documentation to support these programs. Assist with the completion of environmental permits, reports, forms and surveys as required by regulation, permits and/or Phillips Plastics Corporation policy and procedures, and submit them on a timely basis and in a professional manner. Assist in the development of various programs, policies, procedures and associated training materials.
Assure the appropriate, effective, and timely distribution of all required environmental training programs for the facility and may include performance of training.
Assist current facility and corporate leadership to assure compliance with various governmental record-keeping requirements, as well as, Phillips Plastics Corporation metrics, and effectively communicate results to corporate safety and environmental management in addition to Plant Management as needed.
Assist current facility and corporate leadership to serve as technical expert with oversight responsibility to ensure the implementation and documentation of sound principles of Industrial Hygiene.
Coordinate activities with local regulatory personnel regarding environmental activities.
Work closely in a team environment with the facility operations and leadership team to achieve overall environmental, safety operational and business objectives.
Assist current facility and corporate leadership by conducting environmental compliance self audits, supporting external audits and holding an annual review of the safety, health & environmental management system with the management team. Perform monthly compliance audits. Assist with the development, implementation and tracking of specified corrective actions.
Ensure thorough familiarity with policies and procedures relating to standards of business conduct and understand the importance of full compliance with the letter and spirit of such policies.
Perform tasks in accordance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations and Phillips Plastics Corporation Quality, Environmental, and Safety policies and procedures.
Assist current facility and corporate leadership to provide leadership for the plant Environmental Task teams. Assist in the development of various mission/goals and maintain all related documentation for the committees.
Develop, implement, follow-up and follow-through on various professional plans, programs, policies, SOPs, training materials and presentations.
Assist current facility and corporate leadership to provide leadership and direction to establish and sustain a positive company safety, health & environmental culture both on and off the job.
Assist current facility and corporate leadership to coordinate and facilitate environmental incident investigations.
Assist the facility in the efforts of becoming a Green Tier award recipient holder.
Know and understand the impact of this position on the workplace environment and to take all necessary actions to reduce or eliminate negative impacts.
Assist current facility and corporate leadership with specific KRA items.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing B.S. or B.A. degree in fields of Safety / Health or Environmental sciences or Industrial Engineering.
Must possess the ability to demonstrate effective leadership, organize, solve problems and educate others.
Ability to utilize appropriate judgment and discretion as they relate to responsibilities.
Ability to plan and organize work to effectively perform assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Ability to engage in cooperative and responsible behavior which affects the operation of the facility and the company in positive manner
