Responsibilities:

  • Achieve sales forecasts as assigned by sales development director and increase depth/breath of sales penetration within assigned areas
  • Identify new business opportunities and pursue opportunities with potential customers per the direction of the sales development director
  • Develop a book of business – new accounts, book production business, and sell Design Development business
  • Function as voice of the customer to provide insight on capabilities and performance
  • Develop and maintain overall knowledge of Phillips Plastics’ capabilities
  • Influence customer designs and specifications to include Phillips Plastics’ capabilities
  • Inform customers of new/changing Phillips Plastics’ capabilities, products, and processes
  • Keep abreast of customer policy and business changes which may also affect Phillips Plastics’ operations and policy
  • Keep informed of competitive activities, industry news, and progress

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, engineering, or associated discipline
  • Minimum of five years sales experience, with at least three years in the injection molding industry
  • Knowledge of injection molding, plastics/metal materials and associated processes
  • Ability to travel extensively
  • Ability to partner effectively (internally and externally) with personnel at all levels, particularly at top management levels / decision makers within the customer base
  • Strong and effective communication skills, including verbal, written, presentation and negotiation
  • Good judgment; showing strong business acumen, decision quality, intellectual horsepower, perspective, and problem solving
  • Courage indicated by strength of character, and ability to deal with internal and external challenges
  • Ability and desire to be a catalyst for change
  • Organizational agility and savvy
  • Proficient computer skills
