Phillips Plastics Corporation® Receives Outstanding Achievement Award From DRS Technologies
Phillips, Wisconsin – Phillips Plastics Corporation was honored with an Outstanding Achievement Award from DRS Technologies, Inc., a leading supplier of integrated products, services, and support to military forces, intelligence agencies, and prime contractors worldwide. For contributions on quality and delivery that reflect an absolute and unyielding commitment to customer satisfaction, Phillips was presented the Outstanding Achievement Award in Melbourne, Florida. DRS turned to Phillips for assistance with a defense program that required a number of molded components in addition to full detailed assembly. Meeting the high quality standards necessary for the program required additional training of over twenty Phillips people as well as obtaining J- Standard soldering certification.
“The success of this program depended on our many technical resources. Manufacturing and engineering expertise, along with program and supply chain management, were critical to this complex product,” described Jason Grendahl, Plant Manager for Phillips’ Custom facility. “Our resources worked closely with the customer to develop manufacturing standards that would allow for part repeatability to ensure that we were capable of meeting the quality specifications. There was an aggressive timeline for product delivery coupled with an urgent requirement for trained and certified operators. Once the goals were set for productivity and delivery commitments, our team didn’t miss a deadline.”
